Nou kan het behoorlijk schelen waar ze de problemen hebben in de USA of hier,en welke maat ze bedoelen.
Hier moet er getest worden op willebrand type 1 .
Op PRA maar de rest van het lijstje word ook mee genomen.
Heupen.
En NE ,soort van hersenvlies ontsteking.

Laat ik nu net nog nooit 1 van die ziektes bij mijn honden hebben gehad behalve HD 2 x en ook nog nooit gehoord van andere poedels hier in NL behalve een nest wat blind werd was met 6 maanden.
En ook niet die op het lijstje in je artikel staat.

Er zijn geen DNA tests voor bv Addison beschikbaar. En ja, poedels zijn inderdaad gepredisponeerd voor auto-immuun aandoeningen. Helaas daardoor soms overgenomen door de doedels.

Ik heb me laatst ook verdiept in de Wycliffe en de MCB percentages van Sam. Sam is nu 6 jaar en heeft tot nu toe nog geen "enge" afwijkingen of auto-immuun ziektes. De DA bezoekjes betreffen tot nu toe entingen en afgescheurde duimnageltjes. Wat griezelig is dat er inderdaad vrijwel geen zwarte standaard poedels zijn met een lage Wycliffe. Markant detail: poedels met een hoge (tussen de 50-60) wycliffe scoren nog steeds heel hoog op shows.

Hier kun je je aanmelden en je (stamboom) poedel op laten voeren (je kunt natuurlijk ook zoeken naar een nestgenoot van je poedel). Naast een uitgebreide stamboom, worden de verschillende percentages berekend. De database biedt ook de mogelijkeid om ziektes/afwijkingen op te voeren van je poedel. Door de koppeling met de stamboom krijg je enig zicht op mogelijke ziektes in de lijnen van je poedel.

What does % Wycliffe mean?
Wycliffe was a famous kennel in western Canada (beginning in the 1950s) that exported dogs around the world.  Wycliffe followed the common practice of close line-breeding to establish type. This was the common practice at the time, and Wycliffe was very successful at it.  Five dogs make up the core of the Wycliffe ancestry and %Wycliffe is a relationship coefficient based on these 5 dogs.  These 5 dogs are Annsown Gay Knight of Arhill, Carillon Michelle, Petitcote Domino, Carillon Dilemma, and Sedberght Mitzi.  When John Armstrong did his research, the average black Standard Poodle was %Wycliffe and the average white was 40% Wycliffe.

What does % MCB mean?
Standard Poodles experienced a bottleneck in the mid-20th century (MCB), of which Wycliffe was only a part.  There were numerous contributors to this, including the loss of old European Standard lines when the FCI lowered the upper size limit on Standards (which was later restored, but not until the old lines were gone from the FCI countries), the widespread importing and exporting of dogs, and the transportation improvements that made breeding to far-away sires easier.  In the USA and Canada the rise of very successful kennels impacted the breed.   Famous kennels like Carillon, Lowmont, Puttencove, Bel Tor and Wycliffe. The Mid-Century Bottleneck (MCB) is a relationship coefficient based on the influence of 10 dogs born in the late 1940s or early 1950s. These 10 dogs are Annsown Sir Gay, Beltore Bright Star, Canorwoll of Thee I Sing, Carillon Michelle,Clairedge Cinderella, Bel Tor Hosanna, Petitcote Domino, Robin Hill of Carillon, Lowmont LadyCadette, and Petitcote Bubbling Over.  The %MCB is a measure of how much this bottleneck influenced a dog’s pedigree.
