En ik weet ook maar al te goed dat het iets is dat niet enkel door showmensen wordt gedaan,
Funny!
I am one of the only people who points out that these issues happen in BOTH the "show" and "working" groups. And yet you say very nasty things about me and then can't back it up with evidence. And then you deny you said them at all.
These posts are a good start to read what I've said about limiting genetic diversity in WORKING Border Collies.
Only 8 Border Collies
and
Reconstructing Wiston
There are many more posts talking about this and similar issues in Border Collies and many other breeds.
There are really so few people who are willing to talk about these issues. Mostly because we are instantly attacked by people like you. Maybe you should reconsider what your motives are and what our motives are and be honest about what you say.
I believe and fight for healthy dogs that live a long time.
I believe in dogs that are good companions and happy in their homes.
I believe in dogs that are suited to a diversity of lifestyles.
I believe that people should breed dogs that fit their needs and wants.
I believe that health, longevity, temperament, talent, and innate ability are more important than "breed purity."
I believe that people should have the freedom to breed the dogs they want and that they should be mindful of the market demand for the puppies they don't keep.
I do not believe that a dog's health, longevity, or temperament should be sacrificed via dangerous breeding methods to meet their breeder's desires in a faster fashion.
I do not believe that dog breeds are species. Thus they should not be treated like species, artificially prohibiting breeding between other dogs "just because!"
I do not believe that any one special interest or activity deserves to prevent other people from breeding the way they see fit.
I do not believe that dog shows or working trials represent the complete package of what dog owners want in an animal and thus should not be the only means of selecting breeding stock.
I do not believe that breeding methods from 1850 are sacrosanct and well informed and should be followed blindly in 2014.
You've called me all sorts of horrible names and you've slandered what I've written. Why? And why can't you back any of it up with facts? And why can't you disagree in a civil manner instead of just calling names?
If you disagree with an opinion or argument, make a better counter-argument. Ad hominem attacks are not helpful.
